The boy who wouldn't smile...

Luke was my latest smiler. And when he first started, he would only smile for those who were really invested. A casual passerby wouldn't get a smile. But if he thought you were sticking around for a while, he might oblige. Now he's just the boy who won't smile for the camera. That little gray box pops up and the smile machine shuts down. No soul stealing here. Many many grumpy face shots were taking so you could enjoy these precious few...

Eight is Great!

On his 8th birthday.

We climbed a volcano.

Said Jake of the experience: "it was really long. and hot. and there wasn't even lava in it. next time, I'm not going. I'm staying home with mom."

Actually, it was a beautiful day, albeit windy. And the no-lava part was why they went anyway. Don't ask me to contemplate my bedlam-ites and molten fire.

Hair Did by Daddy...

It's amazing what you can learn on youtube...Steve learned to french braid hair. Now if only he would watch the cooking programs, hmm... :)
